So for Black Friday, we decided at P1124 (the clothing company I work at) to make everything 100% off, in exchange for a donation towards Philippines typhoon relief. This was decided in a car ride just a few weeks back. The idea was that 100% of all costs, including profit and production, would be donated to Philippines relief efforts. We wouldn’t even break even. In fact, we would be paying to give away merch.
It seemed like such a crazy idea. And I admit, I was skeptical at the time. But when my boss told me how it’s been on his heart to do this, I knew we had to go for it.
It’s been about 2 days into the Black Friday sale, and we have raised almost $4,000. Our goal was $5,000, which seemed so unattainable at the time. Yet, here we are, two days into the sale and we are only $1,000 away from our goal. Suddenly, $1,000 doesn’t seem so impossible. And neither does $5,000. I realized that this is what God does. He makes the seemingly impossible possible. And it’s incredible. He turns a crazy idea into something wildly successful. I am so in awe of God right now.
